Wallpaper border in Jacob's room 1987
Investing in Delight

The first longevity bonus payment I received from the State of North Carolina was enough to invest in a wallpaper border for the nursery. The rough plaster walls were papered in a cheerful pastel square scatter print. I chose this border to inspire exploration and adventure - it had hot air balloons filled with imaginary animals. I recently found this snip saved from the border - which never aligned properly because the walls were not plumb! This border survived even Hurricane Fran peeling back the roof!

New look for an old dorm pillow 2007-2014

Transformations

Has it already been seven years since we bought a Pottery Barn Teen pillow as an off-to-college dorm furnishing? The lime green with turquoise monogram slipcover just didn't fit in post-grad school decor. So I used the old slipcover as a pattern and made a new slipcover for the pillow. This wasn't easy since the pillow was in Dallas and I was not!
